The capital city of Austin TX in Travis County features 3,106 restaurants and counting. With that big of a city and that many restaurants, could you use a little help picking your next place to eat? Let’s take a close look at three of Austin’s best restaurants, and you can see if any of them are places you would like to make a pit stop.
Barbecue is going to be the first suggestion as for the cuisine. There are naturally going to be many great barbecue restaurants in Austin, and Terry Black’s BBQ is one of them. This Barton Springs Road establishment is ranked #16 out of all the restaurants in the capital city. Pork ribs, peach cobbler and all kinds of good stuff await you there. And the best part is they also let you buy meat by the pound.
Shady Grove is another wonderful restaurant in Austin TX, and you will find it on Barton Springs Road as well. The neon sign is cool, as is the Hippie Sandwich on the menu. Frito pie, twice baked potato and meatloaf are a few other popular menu items. This establishment is close to Lady Bird Lake Trail and is a popular lunch stop. To boot, you can dine out on the patio.
Texas Chili Parlor is also a cool place, and it is on Lavaca Street. There you can order up a sampler, venison, burgers and what’s called killer nachos. All of that sounds like a plan, as does the food at the other two Austin TX establishments. You get to pick the spot. These three restaurants will give you that taste of Texas you are looking for, without you having to pick a place out of over 3,000 restaurants in Austin. If you want my recommendation, get your Texas BBQ first.
